A powerful reflection on Canada, change, and the passage of time. Inspired by my four years living in Ottawa and my love of watching the Changing of the Guard at Parliament Hill, this painting captures a lone Canadian soldier standing watch as the evening sky unfolds above him/her. The Canadian flag, the Peace Tower, and the symbolic 9:11 on the clock invite reflection on awakening, resilience, and new beginnings.
