This 14” x 14” acrylic on gallery-wrapped canvas has been a true passion project. I actually began this piece before my trip to Spain and finally brought it to completion over the weekend. So many hours went into layering, blending, and capturing all the subtle color shifts and textures - every leaf has its own personality.
Maple leaves are such a beautiful symbol of change…each one transforms into a burst of fiery reds, golden yellows, and earthy oranges as the season turns. I loved exploring the way they overlap and twist in nature, catching light in unexpected ways. There’s something almost poetic about the way they age so gracefully, even as they curl and weather. This painting became a meditation on that quiet, colorful transition.
